And it caught up
A tide will turn for no one in the end.

strawberryrosebud asked: OMG so happy there is more Petruo art :D

I absolutely love them, I’m sure there will be more where that came from. (Plus they’re incredibly fun to draw.) Thank you for the message! :D

no I wasn’t afraid I just acted like it so you wouldn’t get embarrassed, duh
(I had to get one more out before I got back to work. uh, carry on.)

I can’t believe I’m posting these.

“Can I keep it?”

rewatched Rebel Without a Cause today and now I will never be happy again.

I redrew some SNK manga panels for a cool down… I’m not great at the whole “redrawing” thing yet, I think, because I stick pretty close to the original, but it’s fun anyway.

Original panels: 1, 2, 3, 4

Anonymous asked: Ridiculously silly question, but I’d like to know how’s your shipping process; meaning, what’s the process you go through with a ship until you inevitably admit that you ship them. Like, “oh, that’s cute” (alternatively: “oh, that’s fucked up” depending on the ship lol), “I wonder when they’ll show up again”, “okay, they’re interesting characters”, “oh noooo nononononono”.

A good question! I’d say it varies… but usually when I come to fixate upon a ship in particular it’s due to some catalyst within the canon suggesting something very striking to me personally about the dynamic between two characters, and then I take that and run with it. The part that varies is mostly how much of my interest it catches, because there are numerous factors involved, such as:

  • How much I like the characters in question
  • What kind of dynamic is suggested (intimate, friendship, romantic, rivalry, etc. or any combination thereof)
  • How interesting I find the potential there
  • How much I think there is to work with analytically/speculatively/fanworks-wise

Things like that! Most often (though not as a rule) my biggest ships are not canon, per se, but there are canon foundations to work from that I sink my claws into. I have certain “types” when it comes to shipping, though, so I can usually recognize a ship that’s going to click for me right away. Usually I’m pretty comfortable to admit I ship something right away, though. The main times I’m more hesitant to admit it are when I’m shipping from old (non-romance) movies or, like, the Simpsons… otherwise I let myself fall headfirst down to be trapped forever here in shipping hell as soon as I first have the thought.

And then I draw it. ;)
